When Jesus stood up in His hometown synagogue and announced good news for the poor, the prisoners, the blind, and the oppressed, the room turned violent. Not because they doubted Him — because they understood exactly what He meant, and rejected it: the Gospel wasn't for the religious insiders. It was for everyone out there.

Jesus backed that claim with action — recruiting fishermen of low social standing, touching an untouchable leper, healing a paralyzed man, and sitting down to dinner with Matthew the tax collector and his marginalized friends.

The Gospel was made for the marketplace. It goes with you into any vocation. It may change how you work. And it turns Monday from a drag into a mission.
